Well, for such an ingenious contraption it was very poorly photographed. I would liked to have seen the other side of it.
I never fully understood the mechanics, but I don't understand internal combustion very well. But this was external heat. Was it steam?
As with any crankshaft this one had to be spot on. That must have been one of the most important aspects of the machine.
The fly wheel was well centered. That was important.
It would keep a hamster busy. Very clever.

I was a mechanic for many years and I’m not sure how it works. I’m guessing (as someone else did) that it’s steam powered but it’s hard to say based on the video. ::shrug::
A pretty cool project irregardless.

I don't know either, maybe just hot air? But I can tell you that this next one is even better than watching the microwave or the toaster. I have been watching it for years, with some breaks for food and sleep.
