Jim Fowler of United of Omaha's Wild Kingdom has died.

Used to love seeing him and Marlin Perkins on that program and him on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

I say Jim was quite a guy at enjoyed seeing him interact with animals. He will be missed.

I always like to watch him when he was on the Johnny Carson show. Johnny was always terrified of many of the animals, Jim would try to calm Johnny by saying things like "he USUALLY doesn't bite". One of the funniest was when Jim Fowler would bring a small animal, hand it to Johnny and it would crawl up and sit on top of his head.

Some comedic program did a sketch of Jim Fowler wrestling deadly critters while Marlin Perkins described the action in his monotone, inexpressive voice.

It was very funny.

There are several vids on YouTube. Some are of Marlin and a guy he calls "Stan".

There were some interesting moments on the Carson show with a small monkey. I'll leave it at that.

I very clearly remember watching Wild Kingdom as a family and Johnny Carson. I loved how my Dad would laugh at Johnny when Jim Fowler would bring just about any animal on stage.
