This was an email I received this morning.


"The wall" is for a great many people, maybe most, a conceptual construct, an idea, good or bad depending on one's political orientation. For the people at ground zero, it has a completely different connotation. It could be the difference between a normal and a frightening lifestyle.

One such person is Kari Wade, who, with her family, owns a ranch just 50 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. The border rancher recently responded to a Facebook comment when someone asked, "Where's the fire" in regards to the urgency of President Trump to build the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.


Her answer:
Let me tell you where the fire is: The "fire" is finding dead bodies on your ranch, the "fire" is finding domestic pig ears in your drinkers when there isn't a domestic pig for 25 miles, the "fire" is waking up to unknown people talking in your attic, the "fire" is dogs barking all night when your closest neighbor is 7-25 miles depending on the direction to just realize there are people outside your barn, the "fire" is having to come home after dark and have to carry a rifle to go feed your livestock after BP tells you that they only caught 9 of the 15 they are looking for.

The "fire" is making a choice...do I take my child with me to a dark barn to feed and hold the flashlight or lock him in the house, so you lock him in the house and call a friend to let them know he's home alone and if they don't hear back from me to come check on us.

The "fire" is you don't feel comfortable letting your child play outside without being in eye shot of them. The "fire" is having large drug busts on your ranch. The "fire" is feeling sick to your stomach every time the helicopter swirls your house because you know they are chasing people because you can hear them on the speaker talking to them.

The "fire" is seeing the BP camera set-up 1/2 mile from your house. The "fire" is coming home after dark...your children are driving in front of you as one is of age to drive, and there are officers on your road watching illegals 1/4-1/2 mile from your house and you have to call your children and tell them to keep driving, don't stop at the house.

The "fire" is coming home to your backdoor wide open. The "fire" is real for me, my family, and my community.

Jerry, anyone with common sense should be able to see the fire! That would be a tough way to live. I suppose none of the folks who oppose the wall have locks on their doors at home. Taking it a step further if it weren't for the loss of A/C and the bugs, I suppose they wouldn't even need a door.

Pretty powerful Jerry. If memory servers me right (and it is faulty) that is what lead to the fall of Rome. Too many foreign folks moved in who did not share the Roman values that helped establish their state.

That is true Floyd, but we have another equally serious problem in common with ancient Rome: crooked politicians who use their office to gain wealth for themselves!

Roland, his horse was probably one of the best decisions he made.

I'm sure the horse was smarter than some of our freshmen in congress.

Just shows that the wall should have been finished long before Trump got elected.

There are two huge roadblocks to securing our Southern Border; One, the democrats in office and a good many in the populace, simply cannot stand the idea of DJT keeping that particular campaign promise. Two, every illegal that successfully enters and remains, will one day be a democrat voter, all that's needed is the right democrat president and democrat majorities in the House and Senate.

If and when that happens, we will become a nation controlled by a single political party and ideology. We will have seen our last Republican president for many, many years, if not forever.

That is the ultimate goal and hardly anyone has the fortitude and will to challenge them on it publicly.

One good bit: 40% of the Hispanics in San Antonio voted for Trump. Nation wide Trump received 29%. Trump's current campaign manager is putting a big effort into the Hispanic vote. I believe he can substantially increase Trump's support especially with a focus on social issues. Latino/Hispanic social values are much closer to traditional American values.

The Mexican people I've known don't like illegals here either. They call them wet backs, no offense intended.
