All About Pocket Knives

I have a 1994 Camillus military pocket knife.One of the springs just broke. Since they are out of business, is there anyone to whom I can send this knife for repair? Thanks, Bill

got a pic, I might have a spring that will fit.

Is it the equal enbd type knife with metal handles and bail, or the older bone handled model equal end?

This knife is the GI issue one w/ US stamped on one of the metal sides...If you can fix it, I will put it in the mail to you. Thanks, Bill

I have new springs for this knife. They are the new redesigned springs that last much longer than the old style. While you have the center pin out it is advisable to replace both springs. If you need them just send me an email with your mailing address ([email protected]).
I suggest that you do not open two blades on the same spring or leave the blades partially open. This will definitely break a spring.

Do you have any more of these springs? I just bought a 1966 Camillus knife. I opened it to inspect it and SNAP went the spring on the main blade. I saw where back in Dec 07 you had some of these springs. Are there any available to purchase or some good spring material. I also need some pins. The knife I bought is in good cond otherwise. Please, anyone contact me at [email protected] if you can help with this.

FYI for those of you who just need pins.
Pins are very easy to make.
Buy the proper diameter size pin stock, (they come in 1 foot & 3 foot lengths), & cut to the size needed.

Your local Ace Hardware or True Value Hardware stores carries (or can order - most carry) pin stock.
Brass pins are the easiest to get. In certain sizes I can buy a 3 foot length of brass pin stock cheaper than i can buy it from a knife supply house. My local Ace also carries some less common sizes that work well for Schrade & Camillus knives. They are closer to the size they used at the factory than what many of the knife suppliers sell.

They also sell stainless steel pins. Remember: don't try & spin a head on a stainless pin. SS is too hard.
Usually ss pins aren't spun anyway.

For nickel silver pins I have to order those from a knife supply house.
