Wabash Cutlery Co.

Post by raincrowe »

I would like to feature a neat little knife...not quite 3 1/5 inches closed....A two bladed knife marked.. Wabash Cutlery Co... the small blade unmarked...I don't know what to call the handles only beautiful....the handle has a pearl shield shaped like a spade...This knife is very well made and seems to be in very good condition...although I was disappointed when I photographed the back I noticed a small crack across the handle...I hope this material won't start gassing......(Blade's Guide to knives and their values 7th edition) pg. 101.......States this knife was made by Indiana Cutlery Co...based in Terre Haute IN....Indiana Cutlery company was is business from 1921-1935.. and lists the value as High....As this being the only knife by (Indiana Cutlery Co.)... I've seen I would like to see another and learn more about this company...All information welcome!! ::tu::

Many times to get information you just need to search in the Q and A forum. Search for Wabash - there are other threads.

The name of the company was Wabash Cutlery Company. In business from 1921-1935.
For some reason they changed the name to Indiana Cutlery Company for a couple of years then back to Wabash.
I've never seen one tang stamped Indiana Cutlery. Not sure if there were any.
The shield and handle are both celluloid. They could outgas, but I would say this one is probably not going to get any worse.
I'm going to send you a pm.
