All About Pocket Knives

Not familiar with the history. Is there significance to pre 1971 knives by this company?
Did they get bought out by Schrade? Thanks

I don't know the recent history but the high quality of vintage Wostenholm knives did not continue beyond the 1930's.

Wostenholm was one of the very best Sheffield knife manufacturers. They made a huge variety of knives from exquisite little pen knives to large Bowies, from about 1830's, on. Ebay often has vintage Wostenholm knives from 1800's and early 1900's. Many are rather 'well used' and not all there. But if you search regularly you will find some very good vintage examples and these are the ones to go for. But a word of caution: the big old Bowies marked "Wostenholm" are often fakes, so get some expert help before buying one of these. The real ones will be $1,000 or more, but so are some of the fakes.
