All About Pocket Knives

Here are two hunters I recently finished. Both CPM 154 steel. The darker handle is stabilized curly red oak and blade is hollow ground from 5/32" stock. The lighter handle is stabilized spalted maple and blade flat ground from 3/32" stock. Both blades are 4 1/2" length and knives are 8 5/8" OAL.

Looks like a handful being 6’2 around 280 I really like them.

Those look great! I do favor the darker oak, though.

I would favor that 3/32" thick, flat ground blade.

Very nice Wayne for certain sure !!! When I look at the shape of the blade of
the spalted maple...a cross between a Case 523-5 & a Case NCCA knife small Bowie
Case did for the NCCA years ago...Super job !!!

Thanks to all for the compliments on the hunting knives.

I used two different stock thicknesses and grinds to get a similar blade/edge profile. I do like working with CPM 154. Anytime I make a knife there is always room for improvement and a few mistakes along the way. All in all I am pleased with the way these turned out.

His Hunters are very nice. I have owned the one he made for me around 3 years now and it has held up extremely well.
