IMHO, it is another case of the financiers & marketing wanks ruining a good idea. They can never be satisfied with a successful business - they always want more, more, more. They make change after change, and they expand and expand until the thing that originally made them successful is buried in bad ideas and bad changes. The idea of a site where anyone can sell their used stuff for cheap is still a great idea. It's everything else that's the problem.

Mike I appreciate this. I saw this news this morning while waiting for a spinal injection. I don’t honestly know what to think about this. eBay is evolving and if he isn’t the best person to lead it going forward than this is good. I’m an investor in EBay but I didn’t invest until they finally started sharing the profit with share holders in the form of dividends and share buybacks. That started less than a year ago. eBay is not a start up company and should do the things that attract investors and dividends are a great start. Focusing on what is best is a good thing. You can’t be all things to all people and selling off parts of the business that aren’t doing well or are hard to maintain is usually a smart strategy.

+1 on this. There are so many loopholes and issues with Ebay. I stopped selling on there a few years ago because of incidents where I was scammed by buyers, unfair practices, and rising fees. I am hoping that someday a competitor comes along and creates an online auction platform that does it right.
