All About Pocket Knives

Don't know if belonged to dad or grandpa found this knife when cleaned out dad's tool bench several years ago. It was rusted so soaked it in bore cleaner for a few minutes and heard a pop , spring busted. So stupid should have done more research , blades are still full don't know if worth saving or sell for parts.

Hi; your knife was made in 1983. Not a high $ collectible knife, even if mint the value is $50 to $60.

Your knife is repairable - worth doing if it has sentimental value.

Another option is to send the knife in to Case. They usually consider a broken backspring to be a warranty issue. If so they would either replace the spring or send you a new knife as a replacement.

Fill out a warranty form on the Case website. They should be able to fix it, if they have the parts.

I think I might be onto something with those Parker era Cases having brittle springs. I've got a 1987 Slimline Trapper packed up, ready to go to Case when I can make it to the post office; and the backspring on the skinning blade is broken. Actually bid on it since I thought I was going to win another knife the seller had and figured at a dollar, I wasn't out much. Ended up not winning the other knife, but still only had about $5 in it.

Case sent email knife qualified for repair or replacement , I printed and filled out the work order and will get by the post office first chance I get.

Received new replacement today , couple blades have rub marks but really can't complain on a freebie . This is first new CASE I've looked over still prefer the older ones.

Great looking knife, I love that blue bone.

The only thing prettier is that blue rope jigged bone . . .
