Need some help with a possible counterfeit knife - 1920-1940 Case XX Tested 6345 1/2 Stockman Bone. I purchased this knife on eBay in 2003 and have been told that it may be counterfeit. We have never owned a counterfeit knife before (as far as we know) and would like more information. I have included several recent photos of the knife and 2 images of the original eBay listing when purchased in 2003. Is this knife counterfeit, and if so how can you tell? Any information would be appreciated.

I am about as far from an expert as possible so don't listen to me.

That being said, I find it odd that there's a shield on both sides. I also question the threaded bolsters.

It is a complete fake. Some knife mechanic cranked out a bunch of those about 15 to 20 years ago. A lot of them have showed up on Ebay.

A shield on both sides is a dead giveaway of a cobbled knife. Hope you didn't pay much, but it looks like it will cut.

*edit- from the eBay picture you did pay too much. ::facepalm::
