Help me figure out this Camillus #64 please

Hello everyone.
I just found this guy on the bay and went with the BIN price.
NOW, I do see the white mold stuff on the handles BUT, The scales do look curious.
I am trying to figure out if they are Delrin, Jigged bone or maybe stag(?).
The handle pattern sure does look NICE!! I mean, look at the pattern on the pile side. Very nice!
Anyway, the tang stamp is a single underline so ..... what, maybe 50s?
Here is a couple of pics.
Y'all set me straight.
Mike

Scanning the catalogs,
I see there was a Brownstag (tm) scale material (1960s), a Cabone material and and then later...delrin.
Some knives were available in Indian Stag but I don't see the #64 on that list.

Here is a picture of a 64 that I have. It is obviously Delrin.

I found a pattern that pretty much matches on a CLEAN knife out on the bay.
I don't know what this stuff is BUT it shore ain't stag....LOL.
Looks sorta like it's on the plastic side.

Could very well be.....
I'm gonna tell you what.... That haze sure did a number on me. It looks like stag at first glance.
Duhhhh huhhhh

I'm going with mfg. in the '70s and "Indian Stag (Delrin®) handles with a serious case of "Delrin® Haze". Scrub those handles down with a soft cloth saturated with some machine oil (3-IN-ONE). They should come right back. Just give it the old Mikey Magic Touch.

Yep, I'm gonna give it a good scrub up and a blade cleanin' and sharpnin'..
I sure do hate to take away the detail you can see thru the "Delrin haze"....
(That is so cool how you get the little "circle R" after the word Delrin....)
The roughness of the surface is seen really well thru the haze. That is what had me fooled at first glance.
Oh well.... ONWARD!

When I was young and ignorant I bought a Cammy with "Indian Stag/India Stag" (back in my 60s), thinking it was antler. But I think their rendition of red stag is really pretty attractive.

I agree... very attractive.
I like the rough texture down in the grooves. Looks really good!
Like I said above... that was what got me when I saw the haze. It really looks.... realish.....LOL.

Mike, you won't destroy any detail by rubbing the handle with a soft rag that's been dampened with some machine oil.
And I get the "Registered Trade Mark" symbol by holding down the Alt key and tapping in sequence, 0174 on the ten key pad. It doesn't work if you type it out on the number keys across the top of the keyboard. If you're not on a PC, I don't know if it can be done any other way.
