Switchblade marked,"Stainless U.S.A.".........

Picked this one up awhile and it wasn't functioning very well so I put it into my,"someday I'll fix it if I get the chance" drawer and kind of forgot about it. While rummaging through there the other day looking for a piece of bone to repair a knife handle I came across it and decided to see if I could fix it.
There were a couple of problems:the button was very hard to depress and the plastic safety on the top that rotated to block the button from being pushed was damaged. Upon taking it apart;a fairly easy task as there was only 3 screws holding it together,I found that apparently someone had tried to depress the button with the safety engaged and destroyed it.That also contributed to the problem of the button;it was hollow and there was a return spring inside it and the thin wall had bent causing it to be hard to push.
Realizing the safety was beyond repair I tossed it and smoothed out the button and re-assembled it.A little tweaking of the pressure on the pivot screw and it was working once again.
The U.S.A. stamping I think is a misnomer as it appears to be of Pacific Rim manufacture. Has anyone ever seen one like this before? The handles are plastic and in the shape of an eagle(or some bird of prey)profile. It has a coil spring to operate the blade and a pocket clip on the rear. I don't remember what it cost but I don't think it was more than a couple dollars. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Years ago I used to sell cheap switchblades and I got a dozen of those, blade stamped U.S.A. but the big box they all came said CHINA.

Generally, if all a knife says is "Stainless USA" you can be assured it isn't.
