The RR1991 Classic Micarta Sowbelly came razor sharp.
I love the Sowbelly pattern and this RR did not let me down. $14.99 via SMKW.
Rough Rider has other patterns with green micarta handles. (Some on back-order)

Looks great in micarta. Really like the shield they chose on this knife.

Two of my hardest-used knives are a Rough Rider Large Work Knife (linerlock Sodbuster) and Large (4 1/4", making it a Jumbo) Stockman. They hold an edge incredibly well, even better than Case. But I will say the CV used in "Classic Carbon" is inferior to anything American, particularly Schrade USA. Yes, I don't like Chinese knives; but they are well-made so that I personally like carrying and using them, all the while realizing that if I loan it out and it gets lost or damaged, I'm not out a whole lot. I'm hoping the Work Knife gets done in that same Micarta. So, I quite often pick one up every now and then.

Yes, I think you'll be happy with any RR Micarta David.
Micarta is new to me cody. I think there will be more in my future.
It seems as if a few knife manufacturers are using it?

OF, Just admiring your very sleek RR. Went to SMK web site. Now debating on whether or not to pull the trigger on it. I sort of promised myself not to buy any more until after Christmas but....the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Micarta has been in use for many years. In my experience the material has been used on higher value knives. There is a variety of micarta available in different colors and textures.

These pictures were taken on 8/8/09 but I think I've had it a little longer than that. Good knife.
