Were all RH 50 or 51 pattern etched with a boy scout etch? Might be an elementary question but I don't know the answer.

I believe they do. I personally would not buy one without the etch. I suppose there could be some assembled by PAL with leftover parts that could be factory fresh and unmarked. There are other BSA Remington hunters also, I have had three RH70s, two RH 32s, and two RH 104s all with official BSA etches and in BSA sheaths.

I have a number of variations of both rh50 and rh51 All have etches. In my opinion you will not see a mint 50 or 51 without the etch. In addition to those previously posted I have an rh84 with nice Boy Scout etch. Maybe mike could also comment.

Uh, No. All RH50 and RH51 do NOT have a BOY (LOGO) SCOUT etch on them.

Some of them have GIRL (LOGO) SCOUT etches on them.

I agree Jim , never seen a mint RH50 or RH51 without an etch , I have an example of the RH84 as well and also a RH204 .

Thanks everyone, my impression was that there should be an etch on those knives but wasn't for certain.

Wayne, that is not an RH 50, it is Kinfolks made GSA knife. Remington GSA knife was numbered RH251 and is basically the same pattern as the BSA RH 51 with a GSA etch and green GSA sheath. What site is calling that a Remington RH 50?

Sorry about that - I don't collect Kinfolks, Remingtons or other FBs in particular, just if they have BSA/GSA marks.

I don't remember where I ran across it. I snitched the pic off a site 3 or 4 years ago. It was ID'd as an RH50 so I and put in a document so I would have it to ID knives down the road.

I have one of the green sheathed knives, but it is out in the shop in a tub with all BSA knives.
