The #708 was last made in 1979 in retail for $8.95. The handles appear to be Delrin judging from the pictures.
That's an amazing increase in value in a mere 40 years, if it were true! That is a huge if!

I bought 2 just like it, still in the “boxes”, off eBay about 3 months ago. Paid $58 for the pair. Gave one to each of my grandsons for Christmas.
Didn’t realize they were so valuable!

I have two mint S-W pen knives, a 708 and a 718, in their original tubes. I'll sell them to a lucky buyer for $500 for the pair. I'll even throw in an official Boy Scout version of that knife gratis.
First come first served!

You know, that one started out at about $785 or something. I guess the seller thought that was a little too much.

You have to laugh at these people that list knives at prices like that.

Lol - I saw that ad but he must have changed it. I clicked on it because of the silly price and also because he had it advertised as a Schrade 408. I guess he fixed the description - but not the price.
Incidentally, I have a factory sealed three pack of 718s that I'm looking to trade for a Harley or maybe a fishing boat. Any takers?

He eventually changed the price down to $375, and the ebay listing is closed with a "Item no longer available" reason. Must have found a sucker on another medium.
