SO... what would y'all do? (opinions please)

Dad-gum-it.....
I hate when I get in a quandary like this...
I just won this 2OT out there on the bay. Now that I give it a good look-over from the sellers pics, I see that this joker has hardly seen any use. Looks like the original owner tried to pry out a nail (or something) with the blade edge 3 TIMES.... then just put it in a drawer. The scales look like they have hardly any wear, there is no sharpening evidence on the blades and even the bolsters look like they have
no pocket wear.
SO.... now I need to decide what to do next. (I know I need it in my hand first) but I was originally thinking I would put in another blade that have in a parts knife. The main blade in the parts knife has a good bit of wear and sharpening on it. SO.... I hesitate to put a worn blade in such a good knife body.
SO.... if
YOU were in my situation ..... what would
YOU do?
Consider this a poll asking what
YOU WOULD DO if this were your knife.....
Thanks for having a look.....
(PS... I intend to put this knife in my collection... if that has any bearing....)
What say ye?

I'm not a knife mechanic so my only option would be to sharpen it down until those gouges are gone. It would be a lot of work though and the tip might sit proud when closed after that.

I would take a sharpie and draw a line from the top of one nick back to the Ricasso. Then look at it.
You don’t have to loose any of the tip to get rid of those nicks.

What they said! Done carefully you should be able to remove those nicks without damaging the tip.
Or just make it into a one-of-a-kind serrated blade!

I would remove nicks also,if you don't like it you can always replace the blade.

Yep.... looks like the consensus is to file out the nicks.....
GOOD ADVICE EVERYONE!!
And
YES...... if I don't like it....
THEN think about replacing the blade.....
Thanks everyone!!

Man that's a tough one. The rest of the knife looks great though. I would not replace the blade. I think if you get rid of the nicks you'd have two options. You could go for a slightly shorter profile, or try to recurve it to maintain the length. I edited your photo to give you an idea.

Mike I''ll suggest you leave it just like it is now and make sure you draw my name in the next POS Roundtable.
Nah.....I agree with what has already been suggested.

Grind the blade down to remove the nicks. The knife should still
look good. Carry the knife for a few weeks in your pocket.
The knife will then look good. Not mint but has been taken care of
and has some history.

I agree. That second picture Revolver Guy posted with the recurve in the blade is my choice. That profile is more in line with a used knife, and it is a very effective as a cutting edge.
That profile leaves the blade full length and looks best to me.

I would grind out the nicks (or not), but in any case just keep your eyes peeled. Eventually there will be a good blade out there for sale with a bad handle. The hunt is always the best part any way.

Really.... Hmmmmm..... I have to think about that a little.
I guess I am such an OCD type that a bow in the cutting edge of my knife would bother me.
Jury is out on that blade treatment.

You are correct.... I have seen 2 - 2OTs come up for auction in just 4 weeks..... (I think that might be a rare occurrence tho....)
You are correct about the hunt part too!!
FUN!!

Another option would be to just sharpen it up without worrying about the nicks. Put it in your pocket when you might want to cut some wire ... those nicks affect the cosmetics a lot more than usefulness, I think.
There is an old saying that The cracked pitcher goes oftenest to the well. I have several knives with blades that I had to reshape because one was broken when I got the knife. Those knives get a good deal of pocket time because I am not concerned about any damage.

If it Were Mine Mike I Had two options I would use First would fill the nick with silver solder and polish out the blade , 2nd Would be go in on the top nick with a diamond wheel and cross over the 2 remaining nicks and finish with a steep edge like 25 Degree since there is substantially more material the deeper the nicks are … K.C. Leaving it as is Besides a good cleaning and admire it

Thanks for the support everyone!
First thing I will do is tote it a few days and show folks what happens when you mis-use a knife blade.
