All About Pocket Knives

Is there any Schrade collectors interested in the knives made before Schrade closed down, in 2004. Ken.

I lke them Ken and I also have alot of them in my collection as well. It was interesting to see the direction that they were headed. Just a shame they werent around longer so we could have lived their vision

I am fond of the SafeTGrip fillet knives in my kitchen. Otherwise, the answer is No.

I agree with Tom. A few of the X knives and the SQ's were very interesting.
The 100 anniv were also a rage for a while till Taylor started adding to them.

The US made X Timer series were really comfortable knives on the hand, especially if you have a bigger hand like I do. I don't foresee any hotspots or sore hands using that knife if you have large hands! The edges comes scary sharp out-of-the-box, almost as if they hired a former Kershaw knife sharpener to do all the sharpening! They are ready to go hunting right out of the box!

I had 2 and Keith got one and the other sits in my Schrade room. I will be on the lookout for a lonely Spitfire and see what I can come up with...

I think all of these were from 2000-2004, but I may have picked some up in the late 1990's

I didn't open the box for the Avatar - but have a well used one in my tackle box. Some pretty good knives but they don't appeal to me like the Cut Co. or Waldens I have.

I posted this trio in another thread not too long ago but they fit the topic here too. These are XT4 blanks - it's a knife that never was. The XT4 first appears in the 2004 catalog but only a handful of blanks exist. From what I understand they never even finished any samples. I'm having one of them completed using the catalog drawing as a guide. It should come out pretty nice.

Will be knice to see it properly dressed and sharpened. One of a kind.

You shold probably sell that Spitfire to Kgold...he has been downunder looking for one for years.

Since you are not a big fan...he may even have something he can trade you.

This 2003 Display, shows us the direction Imperial Schrade was heading.
The "Badger SX4" was coming from The U.S.A, Ireland and China, by 2003.
The Schrade boxes had been printed in China for some time, by about 2000 on.

However, Schrade also had some high quality U.S. made Bone handled knives, in the Pipeline for 2004 also.

One small knife, the TM7 was made in Ireland [left hand - centre of the Display]

Great little peanut. Rare etch! I have the CSW722 predecessor. I love the "Green Mountain Bone".

I really don't consider myself a collector as I use all my knives but I do have a few from 2000-2004. A 194OT Gunstock trapper, a 3OT Bearhead, a 96 OT Trapper, a 98 OT Stockman (SS blades), a 34 OT Middleman, a 285 UH Trapper, and an SWL2 Lake & Walker Liner Lock.

All were relatively inexpensive yet the F&F is as good or better than the much bragged about GEC knives of today. These are just a few of my 21 Schrade knives.
