Tested 61024 restore

Old yellow handles were all cracked and blade was rough. The tang was badly wore so I had to weld it up as well as the kick.
Cleaned and snap restored and some Kansas whitetail handles made it look pretty nice!

That looks great Shawn!
Cutting Whitetail antler easy thing to do because most of it as a lot of curve it. I didn't see any evidence of curving in that at all. Outstanding work!

Very impressive scales. Equally impressive that you did some welding on the blade
and brought it back to a good life.

The antler came from my dads 2017 deer so I gave the knife to him.

OK.... you said you welded the blade. SO.... PLEASE give me a little insight on blade welding.
The blade doesn't seem to have any discoloration where you welded.
Did you use a wire welder?
.
I have 3 or 4 knives I have wanted to experiment with welding on the blades but just haven't tried it.
.
That knife is a real beauty! NICE restore job for sure!
Man, I wish I could see a "before" of that one!

It will discolor the blade but it polishes out. I did use a wire welder. Just spot weld and let cool
