Kabar Stockman repair

I don't post a lot here but I do follow the work done. Here's my second fixer upper. It's a Kabar Stockman before and after.
The knife was disassembled and cleaned. New pins were put in with brass for the backspring and stainless for the bolsters. I tried to match up what I could. I'm pretty sure it needs more work. My peening is not great.
Please be honest about what you see and how best to fix it. I'm still learning and can benefit from the critique.Thanks!

If you aren't completely satisfied with your work just know that it will improve with practice.

Nice work, and great save on that old beauty! You mentioned improving on peening. I saw a very good video a few years back by Muskratman on peening and halfting and have also received some very good tips from the knife mechanics here which helped me a LOT (but I am still trying to improve). If I can find that video, I will post the link. One very important tip I got from Dale Orvet (among many) was to taper the holes before peening. Very important. Keep working on it!

A great save on that knife, it went from "trash" to "treasure"!
Stainless pins will be very durable, but they will always show. If you get some Silvered Nickel pins, they tend to disappear after they are peened, sanded, and polished.
Of course, there are knife companies that do not try to hide the bolster pins, so there is nothing wrong with it either way.
