All About Pocket Knives

Here is a head scratcher. Makes you wonder what was he thinking? Looks like this knife has been taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. The master blade is on the bottom end and should be on top with the nail pull oriented to the maker side. If the master blade is on the wrong end then one of the tools on the bottom end must also be incorrect as well. The seller notes the blades have alignment issues and it is easy to see why. You might take this apart and assemble it correctly and it would work as it should. This repairman should have watched Dale's tutorials before attempting a repair on a knife this nice.

Frame and at least 2 of the blades are Cattaraugus , shield , master and punch blade were not original to the knife IMO . It’s a mutt and a bad one at that .

Yes, looks like a Cattaraugus Whittl L Kraft knife, with Case green bone handles cut down and pinned on, and a Case Tested blade installed. Very odd.

What's the deal with the slotted screwdriver/cap lifter on the OP knife? Did someone put the grinder to it?

John, the Catt boy scout knife in the ebay auction link above appears to have the same notch/cutout in the screwdriver/cap lifter. I'm guessing that was put in intentionally by the maker to work better on pop bottle caps. I'm glad to see that no one is bidding (so far) on this concoction of assorted parts being represented as a "Case" knife.
