Schrade LB7 in Progress

I bought a couple of these awhile ago and just dug them out. I’ve been working with Micarta lately and decided to put some bone colored linen Micarta on this one (I still had some pieces of the bone color left from a previous project). It’s coming along nicely. I had to order up some pin stock, the pivot pin was just a shade larger than what I had available. ::shrug::
I’m still debating on whether to dress up the bolsters with some threading.

Did a little work on threading the bolsters today.
The rear bolster lines are just a shade off. I used the tape and jewelers saw method but something in the curve of the thumb notch must have thrown off the line. Not horribly wrong, just one of those little sniggly things that drives me crazy. If I widen the groove just a shade I might be able to correct it. Or I might just let it be.
I like the look just the same.

I was looking at some micarta on the net yesterday. All the linen micarta I saw had what looked like a cloth pattern down in it (linen?).
ALSO, I did see some that was called "paper micarta" and is had no grain in it to amount to anything.
I keep trying to zoom in to see the grain in your covers. Do they show a grain?

Yes, the linen micarta has a woven thread pattern that’s visible when viewed closely;

I just purchased some od green canvas micarta also. The woven thread pattern on that is a little more distinct;

OK... I see the difference now.
Canvas - coarse
Linen - fine
paper - extra fine
Thanks Jeff!
