Schrade LB7 Finally Completed

This was another learning lesson but I finally got it done.
Polishing brass is a bit different than polishing nickel silver or steel. I'm guessing that the guys who routinely work with brass bolsters probably have some dedicated buffing wheels set aside just for polishing that softer metal. I managed but going forward I may have to buy a few more polishing wheels and maybe another polishing compound or two..
This knife came to me as a standard LB7 with wood handles;
I gave it some new linen Micarta handles (bone colored) and dressed up the bolsters a bit with some large deep threading that wrapped around the bolster edges.
It turned out pretty nice;

Understatement of the year, when I saw this on this on the crawl I just couldn't resist adding one of Jeff's knives to my heirloom EDC collection - she's much bigger in the hips than I'm used to but with a face like that, who could resist! Thanks again for the opportunity!

Jeff, this LB7 is a so called "4 pin" (actually there are 3 handle pins and one spring pivot pin) which makes it an earlier one. Did you make note of the serial # on the shoulder of the right front bolster ?
If the serial # has no letter and the number is under 19,000 then it was made in the first year of production which i think was 1977.

Thanks Jeff. After # 999,999, they started over again with A000001 and then after another 1 million to "B", etc.

I'm gonna tell you what.... That micarta looks 10 times better than the original handles!!

I know it's got a very good home.
Awesome cleanup and remake on that knife, Jeff. You do some GREAT work that I would be proud to own.
