Schrade 3rd Generation

This is a duplicate of the post in Knife Q&A forum, hoping for more info on the 3rd generation knives. I bought this partial set about 3 years ago & they are some of my favorites. Through the AAPK Research tab, I found a site (collectors-of-schrades-r.us) with old price lists. The 3rd gen's were listed in only 1983 & 1984, which makes me think they weren't too popular ( or maybe overpriced? ). They don't show up on Ebay very often. I'm a little surprised that other knife makers haven't copied this style. Any background info would be appreciated, even your feelings about the style.

I had an entire section of the 3rd Gens on the site for viewing.

Great little knives. 1 had a sheath. The C641 was also the same frame used for the LB4 (actually the LB4 came 1st)
2 - 3 years is correct. Schrade made many knives for only 1 or 2 year runs.
Im only guessing that sales would determine the number of years in production.

Thanks, LRV, I will check out that web site. Oh-ho! I just noticed your avatar! The elusive C641!

Here are some pics I snapped at 2:30 AM . So they are not great ( with the Mavica ). It shows the full line of these in an original store display case. I added the three staglon UH models as well ( another display I have out ). I also included the optional knife roll soft case which was also available. The dies on top of the UH display is an original set of dies ( molds) for making the staglon versions. LT PS I just added a pic of the side belt sheath ( Larry mentioned ) for these

Nice complete (?) collection, LT!
I am curious; what does the inside of the soft case look like??

Yes, LT, a very nice set. That is a group I will start looking for, it will give me direction & purpose & an excuse to look at more knives.

I have two sets of the 3rd Generation knives you have shown in the first photo there. These are great looking knives. Both sets are in a single wooden hinged box (one in the top and one in the base) with plexiglass covers. They are displayed in the same form pack plastic as the original store display!
