61OT

I found this 61OT at a flea market last weekend.
I believe I may have been the first to take it out of the plastic.
The original oil has become very "sticky" it was kind of tough getting it out.
I was gonna clean it off , but decided to put it back in the plastic and leave it alone.
I only paid $20 for it!

Wow, David did you get handcuffs with it too? ::uc::
At a price like that you had to steal it!

Nice snag my friend, and my favorite Schrade Stockman pattern also!! ::nod:: Truely awesome! ::tu::

Thanks Dale.
No handcuffs though.
He was asking $25, I offered $20.
It's the kind of flea market where haggling is as much fun as the finds.

Nice pickup David!
I love that pattern and they don’t become available all that often (at least not the ones in great shape).

Paul tells me that at least some of those 61 OTs did NOT have Swinden construction. At least I think that is what he told me. Check it out. Oh... editing... I found a pic in me stash. My records say I paid $14 for this one shipped. No tube/box.

One of my favorite patterns of all times whether it's CASE 63047, Schrade 61OT, or a Camillus 69, they're all fantastic. I'd have ripped the pocket off of my britches to get a $20 out of my billfold for that one.

Both of you stole those two knives for sure! Very nice!

Edge--- You are the first to get it out of the plastic; I assume you will be the first to stick it in your pocket? Just see if it fits... you know... you don't have to keep it there. Or do you? 8)

I'm not sure.
I've got hundreds of knives to carry.
I thought I might just preserve this one. ::shrug::

Be fun to see this knife.

Great score at a great price!

In my opinion, about the only thing better than a 34OT is a 61OT. I'm a big fan of Turkish Clip blades. I currently have a Kabar 1081 only in the Premium Stockman format, but plan to add a 61OT soon; mainly because I've taken to finally fleshing out the Prince Albert collection.

I don't understand. The 61 OT doesn't have anything to do with the Prince Albert Collection. ?

OK, thanks for reminding me. I mixed it up with the 58OT.

The Schrade 895 and 98OT are similar to the 61OT but are smaller, 3 1/2" and are also great patterns.
I think a certain person here coined the term "Slenderinos" for the Schrade patterns with the Turkish clip.
Viva los Slenderinos !

Si! The 895, 899, 98OT and 897UH and their variants are 3 9/16". The 890 is 3 1/2". All great knives!

Good pick up for $20, can’t say I would have turned it down.

I noticed the sheepsfoot nick is on the front side, that means it’s either one of the Camillus made 61ot’s or its a 98ot. What is the closed length and what pattern number is stamped on the blade?

The following is stamped on the mark side of the main blade:
SCHRADE
U.S.A.
61OT

61OT is also printed on the end of the box.
Closed length is 4 inches.

May I ask, why would you have turned it down?
