Hello all, Just joined this week.
Guild member Frank McGowan of Sykesville, MD was a friend and fellow member of the Chesapeake Bay Knife Club. I had an old Sheffield-made table carving set that was wrecked but the stag was fabulous. I asked the master smith to make a "woodcraft" pattern hunter for me, (a la, Marbles). (It took me days to extract the old stick tang from the Sheffield knife. Don;t know what their cutler's cement was made of but it's way in front of Gorilla glue!!)
Frank and I designed the knife and he crafted it in Damascus, blade, guard, and buttplate. 9-3/4" long.
I'm an antique folder collector and this is the only custom knife I own. It's a treasured item because I'm guessing Frank must be retired now, (or ??), and he was a fellow musician and great guy. Hope you're still kicking and grinding, Frank.

Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I do owning it. J'O'.

Welcome to THE forum!
.
That is a very nice looking and well executed knife!
Beautiful lines.... and the stag and damascus give it that "woodcraft" look.
Excellent!
