All About Pocket Knives

I remember having a "Boy's Knife" in the 1950's. Bought in a local drugstore for 49 or 59 cents. We carried them everywhere, even to school. Played mumblypegs, threw then, whittled sticks, cut up bait, apples, etc.. Nobody got hurt, died, or "put an eye out". They were fun and part of being a boy. Here are some of mine. Left side: Top to bottom: 1) Saxon, Germany, 2-11/16" metal shell, Easy opener. 2) Lenox, Germany, 3" wood
3) Crusader (?) 3-1/4" wood, (anybody know that brand? ) 4) A.W. Wadsworth, Germany. 3-1/4" wood
Right side: All I.K.Co. (Imperial) Mdetal shell, 3" All have iron liners. Enjoy! J.O'.

Those are all good knives !
I went to school in Montreal in 1950's and many of us boys carried a pocket knife to school, mostly shell handled Imperials because these were inexpensive and available in local hardware stores. The only rule in school was 'don't carve your initials into your desk'.

Here are a few that I have.What I found strange was that two of the IKCO's had clip blades and the other two had spear point blades. The R.Klaas is a bit oversize but I decided to throw it in anyway. The Alterbach has wood handles jigged to look like bone.The L.F.&C. has plain wood handles.The Nymco Japan is uncommon.

Just received a notice that my first Boys Knife will be delivered tomorrow, will post it when i get it, notice i said first, have another one being made to order, won't get that till next year now with all the Covid restrictions. What have i done.

If you start getting unsolicited mail from over here, it will be accounts from my therapist for my treatment for my addiction that i am putting down to you. This arrived this morning, and i really like it. Thanks for setting me right.

Another boys knife for the collection.
Marked only Crusader. Goins says name used by Belknap. 3 3/8” has 1/2 stop. Some kind of rubbery plastic handles. It’s in great shape.
