All About Pocket Knives

I found another Marbles knifes were in great shape so I didn't have to change them, but I had to do quite a bit of work on the blade. Didn't get all the scratches out of it but it's hard to remove all that history. I decided I wanted to spice it up a little bit. The ring in the middle of the handle is Sambar stag that came off of an old carving set, German if I remember correctly.
I made the sheath also.
There are some things I like about this knife better than the first Marbles but I'm kind of fond of both of them.

Nicely done Dale! I like the stag in the middle of the handle. It loos good and probable adds the "grippy" feeling as well.

That's a sharp looking knife. Sheath looks good too. Ever worry about the blade hitting the rivets? This dulling it. I like the stag and leather look too.

How are you sewing your sheaths? I'm leaning towards machine but was curious. Nothing wrong in my book with machine or hand stitching mind you. I'm just curious.

The design of the sheath is really based on one of the designs Western used. I'm not familiar enough yet with Marbles sheaths that I can make a pattern of them. The reason for the rivet in the middle is to protect the stitching because that is where the stitching usually gets cut on that type of a sheath. That's why Western started putting rivets along that edge; at least that's my theory.

I hand stitch my sheaths.

I would agree Dale I believe that is why the rivets are there too. As u probably know that is also why welts are put in sheaths to help keep the blade from.cutting.it.
