I'm looking for an original sheath in fairly good condition for a Schmidt & Ziegler 5417. If anyone has one for sale, please contact me by PM. Thank you,

Jerry,
Are the S&Z sheaths marked and do they have pattern numbers on them. I am really like the brand but I have no clue about their pattern numbers or what the pattern numbers represent. I am assuming this is a folding hunter.

Ray,
The 5417 is a fixed blade hunting knife. I do not know if the Schmidt & Ziegler sheaths are marked or if they have pattern numbers on them as I have not actually seen one, only photos. It makes sense that there are pattern numbers for the sheaths as I have seen photos of various models of S & Z knives with different patterns on the sheaths. There is a 5417 currently on eBay that claims the sheath is original. The eBay Item Number is 174310987926 if you are interested. I also have a photo of another 5417 with the sheath. The pattern on it looks the same as the one on eBay. I have attached the photo. I hope I can find an original sheath as I would like to keep the knife as original as possible. However, I know it will be difficult to find just the sheath.

I was looking online at Kinfolks knives and sheaths and I happened to see a photo of a Kinfolks sheath with a pattern very similar to the pattern on the sheath for an S & Z 5417. One difference I noticed between the two sheaths is this. The S & Z sheath does not have metal fasteners along the stitching whereas the Kinfolks sheath does. I don't know if that improves my chances of finding a sheath for my 5417 or not, especially since Kinfolks is also out of business. Of course a Kinfolks sheath would not be original to the 5417, but then I would document the fact that if was not an original sheath. If anyone has a Kinfolks sheath like the one in the attached photo and is willing to sell it, please let me know.
