If anyone has an extra or decides to sell a 2020 AAPK 74 mustang, I would be interested.
Thanks, Rick

I have no idea. I just figured that there was a list of preorders, but not sure what the protocol is.

I don't know how it will work this year, but in the past few years I have gotten an e-mail notifying me to come to the AAPK Store and order the knife. Of course you have to be placed on the list the first time, after that you get the e-mail each year. Also I haven't seen anything that says there will be a club knife this year. Is that a certainty? OH

There was a picture on the GEC website labeled 74 AAPK. It was a box of bolsters I believe.

Well, in the FBI they would label that as a clue! Thanks, OH

I think you will have plenty of time to get one when they get here. They haven’t sold out in minutes but usually over 4 or 5 days.

Mate, if my memory serves me correctly, which can be doubtful ::dang:: , last year they were available in the members store for weeks, not days. Hopefully someone else will confirm this, or confirm that i am delusional. ::mdm::

I’m referring to how long they were available from Bryan. You are correct that some of the stores offered some later and you could still pick one up at a later date. I think the 97 was pretty slow to sell when that was offered and did take a good while to sell out. The 97 is still pretty unpopular, they don’t bring much on Ebay compared to a lot of GEC patterns and you can still find dealers with stock of them available at the original price.

I'll have to learn to sleep with one eye open. When i got up and tuned into AAPK this morning noticed all these posts about #74 forum knives. All done and dusted, gone. I feel for you that collect these every year and have missed out. I am a new comer so does not worry me, but as curiosity how much did they sell for?

You're welcome, cudgee.

I kind of wanted one but I don't collect them like some here do. I didn't really care for the pattern itself until I started seeing the regular releases. Then I wanted one that said AAPK on it but I needed to see it first.

I logged onto the sales page when there were only 6 left which was of course, the very first time I saw the knife. I hesitated because the handle color didn't appeal to me at first glance. I ended up not getting one but that's okay. I may not have been happy with it anyway if I had made the hasty decision required to obtain one.

Have yourself a great weekend too, my friend. ::handshake::

A good philosophy to have mate, hasty decisions are usually the wrong ones. I'm a big believer in going with your gut feel, and if it doesn't feel or sit right you are normally correct. And you have more money for when you see something that you really like, and one will turn up, you just don't know when. :D

Well this is a real kick in the head, just got back from helping some folks most of the afternoon and noticed an e-mail from AAPK concerning the 2020 knives. They are already sold out! :(

The news of their availability hit Facebook and they were gone. Likely mostly to non or marginal members at best, I could be wrong, but I would wager I'm not.

I'm guessing you are 100% on the mark here. Flippers will have them up on ebay here soon.

Excellent work Bryan, I sent an email earlier and am hopeful to get one.

The new collectors are now treating GEC knives like
they treat limited edition Spydeco, Kershaw etc. Hot commodities to acquire to flip or trade for something else. The Facebook chatter is quite unlike the traditional knife collecting I appreciate.
