Hi knifers,

Anyone know what type of work this knife was made for? Is it a doctors knife? Or a Pharmacist's knife? Or? ::shrug::

Thanks for your time & wisdom! ::handshake:: ::nod::

That's a pipe knife, Tom. ::tu:: As in a knife that can assist one in smoking a pipe.

I just picked up a Schrade Walden pipe knife also, Tom..the pick is to clean the screen/draw tube and the flat end is for tamping the tobacco I assume...

Ok thanks guys. ::handshake:: Appreciate your input! ::nod::

The rounded blade end threw me off because some doctors knives have a blade in that form. ::dang::
It's a pipe smoking doctor's knife. ::nod::

I think the round blade shape is for scraping the bowl of a pipe to clean it. Some have that blade shape, others don't.

I still haven't gotten one yet, but I really want one. Sheffield-made ones have been on my list for years, but now that I just saw Schrade made one, I'll have to get it now.

The "pick" on the one I posted is more square than pointed so I thought it might be for mixing things. ::hmm:: But what do I know. ::shrug:: If you guys call it a pipe knife, then it's a pipe knife. ::tu::
Thanks ::handshake::

I like the one you have Ryan! ::tu:: I need a knife with a pointy something on it for pushing 550 cord through the holes on small clips when making lanyards. ::nod:: The normal blade for cutting the cord & the blunt ended part for forming the hot melted cord. Yours would make the perfect knife for all three tasks. ::tu:: ::nod:: A perfect lanyard makers knife! ::nod::

Now you guys just need to take up pipe smoking. I always liked the way Apple Wood tobacco smells.

I have tried it before. Even bought a couple of pipes but it takes too long. Would be good for keeping mosquitos away like when your fishing or something. ::tu::

This thread has got me missing pipe smoking. I gave it up 7 years ago but I always enjoyed it.

My pipes are in storage in the attic so I don't have any current pics but this handmade Pot was my favorite. The Pot is similar to a Billiard but with a shorter and wider bowl. The photos were taken the day I received it but I got a lot of great smokes out of it before I put it away.

I can't remember the gentleman's name who made it for me but he called his company Briar, Sweat, and Tears hence the BST on the shank.

I'm not going back but I do still have some of my favorite tobaccos stored in the basement.

When I fished a lot I always had Swisher Sweet cigars in my tackle box to puff on.. better than bug spray to keep the skeeters away!👍

I bought a box full of those at CVS while out drinking one night with another couple, back in my late 20s. I couldn't brush my teeth enough the next day! 🤣😂🤣

I have one pipe knife. I am deeply grateful that no form of tobacco will reduce the quality of my life or that of my loved ones ever again.
