1914 Hatchet

This hatchet was my Grandfather's who died in 1956. The only stamp is 'HAND MADE 1914".It does hold a terrific edge. I know nothing about it. Welcome any info, comments, etc. J.O'.

I don't know the provenance but I have always known those as 'roofing' axes. Maybe most useful when roofing with wooden shakes.

He was in the hog business. Maybe he made pork chops with it ?
