More shenanigans from The Bay...

Here's one to watch out for on the Bay this week

https://www.ebay.com/itm/233822660863

I made another post dealing with Kutmasters dressed up as Tested 61093s. But it's worth repeating in order to save someone from spending $825.00 plus for this one.

The back story the seller uses is hilarious: " THIS IS ONE OF THE KNIVES I HAND PICKED MANY YEARS AGO OUT OF MANY, OILED WITH LIGHT OIL, SEALED AWAY IN A PLASTIC ZIP BAG, PLACED IN MY CLIMATE CONTROLLED SAFE FOR ALL THESE YEARS. ONLY THE VERY FINEST ONES THAT I COULD FIND AT THAT TIME MADE IT TO THE SAFE."

Funny, because a quick search on Worthpoint shows that this same knife was bought in 2015! (Then again, after 2020, I guess 2015 could feel like "many years ago.") Either way buyer beware! Check out the photos!

And it's been a while since I've checked in. Hope all of you knife nuts are well!

Robo, I remember that POS from last time. It's still easy to see where the previous stamp was ground off the tang before the new one was cold stamped. He really needs to do a better job with that. Has Case ever used slotted bolsters? He has a bunch of Case knives for sale right now and I wonder how many of them are fakes? How about this one:

All the rest of his listings are for more recent Case knives, many newer than 2000. As far as i know recent Case knives are not being faked ?

I'll leave judgement on this one up to members who know the pattern. In the mean time, he pulled the toothpick. Not sure if one or more of y'all called him out directly, or if perhaps, he's a member of AAPK and saw this post, but it's gone! So, we got that going for us! Good to see all the responses--Stay well!

That one is probably okay as there aren’t many if any fakes of newer Case knives. It’s a 2011 model. But it’s also newer than what I collect so somebody else may know more.
