I saw that last night , not Napanoch bone , blade shapes are wrong, overall look of a modern made knife. Now $107 bucks , I am guessing it goes in the $250 range.

The knife looks like a pure fantasy knife to me. Hard to believe how it's getting bids that high?? ::shrug::

Too bad it isn't real. I do like the jumbo sleeveboard pattern and the bollocks shield. Isn't the word "Napanoch" in the tang stamp supposed to be arched?
(I have an original Nap elephant toenail and the stamp is arched.)

I just noticed that the seller is suggesting that this knife is from the period in the 1930's when John Cushner restarted the Napanoch brand for 7 or 8 years. I have no idea what the knives from this period should look like. ::hmm::

The straight line and arched stamp was used in both eras of the Napanoch companies.

This knife sold at an auction house a month ago, I guess the winning bidder couldn't wait to unload it.

Classic example of looks new because it is new. None of the look that a real old Napanoch example would have.

I have bought many good knives from this seller over the last 10+ years. He is quite 'knife knowledgeable' so i am very surprised that he is selling this as an original vintage knife. All my dealings with him have been 100% positive.

Edit to add: seller just removed this listing.

I contacted the seller after getting agreement that the knife was a reproduction from a couple of my more experienced collector friends. I wanted to be absolutely sure before I emailed the seller. The seller was gracious and took the sale down immediately. I have no doubt the issue was unintentional.
I’ve contacted sellers for similar issues in the past. Most have positive results and the sale is taken down.
I would hate to standby and watch someone waste their hard earned money. I personally know it’s a terrible feeling.

I wonder who made this and when? ::shrug:: I like the pattern, but just wishing it was a legit, old Napanoch won't get you much. 💸💸💸

FYI, it's back up again, only now he has it listed as a "reproduction". I wonder who actually did make this knife?

Thanks, Herb. I'm following it yet again on eBay just to see if and what it sells for. 😉👍

Likely to sell $250-$300 is my guess. Then you could do a 'tener' by relisting in a couple of years time as "Minty Old Napanoch".
