All About Pocket Knives

Just received an email from a retailer to order a new release of Finch 1929's, the email had been sitting in my inbox for 55 minutes. When i opened it really liked what i saw. There were Cocobolo, Dark Denim Macarta and Crawdad Tan Jigged Bone, they were all sold out. So went like GEC's, i would have secured a Crawdad Tan Jigged Bone if i could, my question is, does any members have any of these knives and what are they like. I don't know how much this release cost, as they were all sold out, there was no price.

I don't currently know anything about them cudgee, but you can view and buy them from www.traditionalpocketknives.com , as they have some sold out, but some also available. They certainly are good look'in knives, and appear to be quality built! Hope that helps! I have looked at these on Risner's site. Don't appeal to me but they do sell out. Manufactured by "GSP", designed in Stilwell KS.
Who & where is "GSP" ? China ? Italy ? Spain ? Uzbekistan ? Canada ?

Thanks for your reply. I have seen the brand around for a while but was not something i was interested in, but the 1929's look like a good EDC and solid work knife, and i just liked the look of the Crawdad Jigged Bone. On seeing the prices of their other models, i am guessing these maybe are around the 130-150 dollars range, but i am only guessing. I knew nothing of these until i got the email, but as i said, they did not last long. Maybe other people knew of their pending release and jumped on them straight away. EDIT. Just looked up the Finch website link you posted mate. No good to me, it is a flip knife, illegal over here, customs would snavel it up, and i would have a red flag against my name, which would make bringing in any knife from overseas a problem.

Thanks Tom. Chinese manufacturers are capable of making top quality knives. However design is even more important and these are some of the first knives that don't 'speak' to me regardless of price.
Do they sell out because people really like them ? Or is it based on fear of loosing out, based on inability to score a new GEC release ?

Last Thursday, Jan.14th 2021 I posted my two current "Finch" knives that I have within the "Chinese Factory Manufactured Knives" thread.
They are great knives with excellent quality and workmanship.

I am scheduled to receive the other three Finch knives today, Tuesday, Jan. 2021
(1) "Takuna" Finch knife in Safety orange color.
(2) "Runtly" Finch knife in Yellow belly color.
(3) "Model 1929" Finch knife in Cocobolo wood.

I will post further pictures of the three above knives within the: "Giving me the Bird. "Finch" bird that is." in the "Chinese Factory Manufactured Knives" thread after I take the pictures.
I am very excited about these new knives. Always within arms length.

"Finch" is a new blossoming knife company, their knives are designed in Stillwater Kansas USA, and produced by QSP in China.
American owned company.

No problem bud, I know just what you mean! Heck, I'm on a 1st name basis with Customs over here due to so many seizures! At one point I virtually begged them to take me to court over a spring assisted knife, so I could expose to more people how ridiculous our knife laws are, and I wouldn't have to pay for the proceedings because they initiated them, but of course they backed down, didn't get my knife, but they didn't prosecute either. When I was getting autos from a source in the US who would remove the blades and pivot screws and send them in a separate package, so as to turn the knife into "parts" and 100% legal to import, Customs would hold both packages for as long as they were allowed to, just to inconvenience me for using the shipping "loophole", but ALL 18 packages were eventually released. That source had all the import information for Australia, Canada, the U.K., and other import restricted countries posted on his site, so I'm quite familiar with your restrictions over there. Anyhow, good luck with your quest for a Finch-1929!

Totally agree Dan! Chinese made knives are getting better and better all the time, and these Finch knives are a testament to that. They look good, and I'll bet they perform likewise! I'll be getting a "Doc Holiday" ASAP, and possibly a "Cimarron" as well!
