All About Pocket Knives

I would be interested in seeing knives that someone else lost and YOU found. I have one, and it is a Victorinox Swiss Army knife, 2 1/4" overall with 3 blades and still has the toothpick and tweezer. When I was working at a contractors supply business, one of my jobs was to setup new woodworking tools for customers, whether commercial shops or home shops. One day I was assembling a Delta 8 inch jointer for a customer when I opened the wooden crate containing the bed with cutter head and fence. As I was hoisting it up with a chain hoist to set it onto the motorized base, I saw this knife laying in the bottom of the crate. This was a Delta jointer that was made in Taiwan at that time, so it must have traveled awhile before I found it. Lets see your knives that you may have found. Someone elses loss equals YOUR gain.

I found these three at different times, in different locations.

A China-made Jaguar I found in a corn maze many years ago. I forget who was showing off their Beretta, but I had to show the knock-off similarity!

I only have knives that I lost and someone else found.

It pays off to watch where you're walking, and you won't fall in a hole.

Out hunting about 20 years ago, I found a large Gerber folding knife with black synthetic handles. Had it for years. Now I myself have lost it. Strange karma.

I sometimes think I will will find a knife especially in a parking lot or a public place. Still

Place I used to work i found 1 of those snake eye China knives. I always kept my eyes on the ground there because I must of picked up cash a dozen times.

My nephew was pheasant hunting here in South Dakota a few years ago, and he was walking a field with his group when they got to the end of the field back towards the road he found a hunting knife stuck into the top of a wooden fence post. Imagine that someone had gotten their deer, and after field dressing stuck the bloody knife into the top of the post with the intention of wiping it off before putting it back into the sheath and forgot all about it.

Not a knife, but it still cuts!
I found this Boy Scout hatchet stuck into a tree at the Scout Camp when I was a teenager. It was in fairly good condition at the time, showing a few weeks-worth of rust from the weather.
I used it roughly for years, and rarely stored it well, and now the Boy Scout emblem is no longer visible. But it has worked well for over 40 years!

Here are three that I have found over the years: The top one is an old Western States pocket knife that I found beside the foundation of an abandoned ranch home in the mid to late 1950's. It was so rusted that I had to soak it in kerosene for a week to get the blades to even start to open. After some work with kerosene, oil and elbow grease it still has good snap, although the spring is so terribly rust pitted that I hesitate to open either blade. The old nickel silver bolsters, brass liners and bone handles are still as nice as the day they left the factory.

The second is a Western fixed blade found in a tree stump during deer season, also in the mid-1950's. No sheath of course, because some poor old hunter dragged his deer off with the sheath still on his belt.

The third is a Leatherman Supertool that I found at our local yard waste drop-off facility 3 or 4 years ago. No sheath there either of course, but the tool looks like it was never used for anything much at all. I even advertised it in our local newspapers lost and found column but got no response.

Over the years I have found 2 leather man super tools, a gerber multi tool, sog trident, Benchmade, kershaw Emerson, Ontario d handle machete, and a tramtia? Machete. Along with other various hand tools. Still have most of them, they all work fine!

In all my years of accumulating knives I have never found even one! I do have one that was given to me that was found inside a wall of the Salem Witch Museum.A friend of mine was the curator there and called me one day to tell me to stop by and that he had something for me.It is an Anton Wingen gravity knife from the 1950's. Apparently when they were renovating the museum the time before someone left it inside the wall.No blood on it so I guess it wasn't a murder weapon.

Two of the several I have found over the years are an old Case 055 I found sticking in a watermelon rind someone left on a roadside picnic table when I was 14 years old. The main blade was very loose as the pivot pin was broken, I eventually lost the original blade and then several years ago I rediscovered this old knife and AAPK member Elvis put a Queen blade in it for me, giving me my 1st Frankenknife: One evening I found a Buck metal handled knife in my chair. Even though we tried, we could never figure out who lost it, no one lost it or maybe they wouldn't claim it because it was a Taiwan made Buck.
