I too, wish sometimes i could go back! I drove a 63 FORD Falcon for a long time and it was the ONLY car to never leave me stranded on the road due to a breakdown. Left me stranded ONE time, when i was sure I could make it to the next filling station!!! Thanks for sharing this with us

I had a 1959 Bonneville with tri power and stick shift that got a wapping 6 mile to the gal. and could afford to drive it not like today

Hey Mitch, my dad bought a 1973 Charger SE for 3300.00 in 1973. It only had the 318 but boy what a looker. Sold it to me in 75 for 1000.00. Always believed a boy should earn his own way in the world! He was a pretty damn good ole man. Wish I still had him and the car.

And wouldn't those 440 Magnum Chargers run like a raped ape too.

I drove a 67 Mustang Fastback GT with a 390 until I blew it up. Then I got ahold of a 1971 429 Super Cobra Jet and 4 speed transmission (by Carroll Shelby). By the time I got done with modifications, it was a bit over 500 cubes and street legal. There were also a lot of mods to fit the engine in. I drove it to Sears Point Raceway on the Wednesday night, paid my fee and ripped down the strip for a 10.19 ET and almost 140 mph. I only made one run, only having a seat belt was not kosher. I think I may have been the only 10 second car that was driven there. I sold it, it just ate to much gas. It took 32 gallons of gas to make about a 220 mile round trip and those are freeway miles. Pretty darn good for a carborated engine using just gas.

Very Cool Moss, my folks sold my grandparent's 58 Chevy Bel Air right after my grandmother died and I still wish I had that car. It was light Blue and had the fins of course and was a dream to drive. I think that I could have painted that baby Candy Apple Red and be drivin it around, MAN.

AAAHHH Yes! I can remember driving the first thing that had any get up and go to it. A Pontiac. I would take it out of the hollow from my parent's house, down to the hardtop road and drive it to one of these little hole in the wall towns around here. I would try to write my name on the asphalt with the back tires. All my buddys and me would work on our cars all week long just to go to town on Saturday night and tear them up. I liked that ol' car but now, I'd rather be back at that age than to have that car.

Fast cars, Alcohol, Cigarettes and long legged women. They could drive a man crazy and make him insane.

Hell, if we got a chance to do it all over again we would probably just screw it up. But it would be soooo good doing it.

Here's my two old cars;a 1955 and 1957 Pontiac Safari wagon.The 55 I've owned for 14 years now and up until last year drove it nearly every day.The transmission let go and I'm currently saving my pennies to rebuild it.The 57 is an old race car built in 1963 by a friend of mine.I bought it 10 years ago after it sat in storage since 1979.Hopefully it will be raced again.

I remember my first car....'52 Chevy. I bought it with a blown engine, my dad & I rebuilt it. When it was all done I had less than $75.00 in it.

I don't have the car any more, but thankfully dad & mom are still both around.

Back in 1967 i went into the USMC-got a 67 basic Mustang drove it 2 months and got my orders for West Pac. (NAM)-never did see my car again I think the REPO man got it---never heard a thing about it and did not dare ask. Wish i had it today.

58 Chevy Bel Air I had 6 1958 Chevy's the KOOLEST one was all white 2 door hard top like the one in the movie American Gratify. Yes I also had a YELLOW one too...

My other Kool old car was a 1966 Chevy convertible with 3 sped stick on the dash with overdrive white and red.

In 1973, after I got out of the Marine Corps, I bought a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I wish I had that one back again too. It was pretty fasssst.

Them SS 396's sure did sound nice with the right pipes on them... The BLUE one's looked super too.
