I was looking through my knives last night and noticed the similarities between these two knives. Not sure why I hadn't noticed until now? An ebony, marked Keen Kutter and a well worn pick bone, marked Simmons Hardware Co.

They sure look identical to me Dan,

right down to the pin placements, although, the nail-nick on the small blade on the model with the pick bone appears to be more narrow. Other than that they look to have be born seconds apart! Very cool knives!

Two beauties! You can't go wrong with Ebony and that pickbone is a classic.

Beautiful old tear drop jacks
The Simmons might have been contracted from Walden before Simmons bought Walden. The old pickbone handled one looks pretty early.

Thanks for the comments, msteele6. Interesting speculation about the Simmons being from before they bought Walden. I hadn't thought of that.

One other point that I think indicates an earlier knife on the Simmons. Notice that the nail pull extends all the way into the swedge on the master. The later (IMO) knife has the more normal pull.

I had noticed the difference in the pulls, but, did not realize it had any significance. I do not have that many Simmons stamped knives. Thanks, msteele6, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
