Anyone recognize this mark? "WARRANTED STEEL" That's it. Has a UTICA or CAMILLUS look. No reference in Levine or Price. Pen blade is broken.
3-3/8" , Brass liners, nice celluloid, long pull, 30's-40's ??
Thanks, J.O'

Isn't "warranted steel" more common on German knives?
Not saying this knife looks German, quite the contrary.
I've never seen it used on Colonial.

EDGE: That crossed my mind too but wouldn't it have to be marked as an import? And I wouldn't think the Germans would use English on their domestic products. Fun mystery! Somebody's going to know. Just have to wait. J.O'.

I don't believe its German made, just that I thought "warranted steel" was used mainly on German knives.
It is American.
I have similar knives with the following tang stamps.
MADE IN USA (Colonial)
Imperial
Colonial
Syracuse (Camillus)
Corning
Fairmount
Winchester
USA (Colonial)

While we're on the subject... Those old factories must have shared suppliers of dies and materials. I've seen some celluloid patterns appear on a variety of brand, especially the candy stripe. Maybe someone here knows who supplied the celluloid. Like the bone styles found on multiple brands. ?? Just idea mining! J.O'.
