All About Pocket Knives

While waiting for my wife to go through some tests at the hospital I decided to visit an antique shop I had gotten some great knives from awhile back. Found these three for "ThreeBux" apiece.These were in a bag of knives that apparently other knife collectors had passed over.
The Kutmaster candle end lobster I bought because the pattern is not all that common.It was a bit rusty but a little sandpaper and polish and it looks pretty good.
The Imperial electrician's knife I thought was unusual in that it had a pruning blade rather than the more conventional spear point.I also liked the fact that the dye in the handles isn't consistent and almost gives it the appearance of bone.
The last one was really special to me;in fact I devoted another thread to it.Stamped Fairmount Cutlery Co. it at first looked like one of the standard miniature easy open knives that Imperial and Colonial were so famous for. However upon looking a bit closer I noticed the frame is in the shape of a miniature dog leg pattern rather than the more conventional swell end.I am showing a couple of pictures in comparison to the usual models.
Anyway that was my $9 adventure for today.

Seeing that almost solid brown handle makes me wonder if, perhaps, some of the Kleins were made by Imperial, and not Utica/Kutmaster. I never knew they had offered one with a hawkbill blade. Camillus did, Bear currently does, and Kutmaster does, under their own name and Klein. I honestly prefer the two-blade with spear point. Far more utilitarian, and not a brick--like the three-backspring models are. I got my first Klein three-backspring (I have a Colonial, but it's still reasonably sized), and that thing is thick and heavy.

Ray you are a great 'knife finder'. You love knives so much that you are willing to give most knives a new home. Nice Lobster knife. Not many of us collect those. I'm sure it is grateful that you do.
