Identify vintage Parker "damascus" knife

I was recently given care of a handful of vintage knives, most of them handmade, but this one is not, I know almost nothing about its origin, except that it was acquired or made, or remade in Rome Georgia in the late 60's.

Welcome to All About Pocket Knives. Your Knife is a Parker U.S.A. pattern 1392 if it has a 4 inch blade. The company was owned by James Parker and was produced in Jacksonville Alabama from 1986 until around 1990. It also originally came with a sheath. Most of the ones I've seen came with the Dura-wood laminate with the layered colors, and had brass pins. I'm not sure about your handle. Most of the factory handles I've seen didn't have the finger grooves. Your handles may have been replaced. In nice condition with no wear, with the sheath they used to sell in the $70 to $80 range. Thank you Smitty. Though you are wrong, your response gave me the info I needed to find this blade.
Parker sold a kit, one version of it is on Ebay, MO24 is that version, the blade with brass and blocks of wood.
Given what I know about the maker, who is dead now, that is probably the source, how he made it look "Damascus" I have no idea, but he made many knives, many of them from tool steel at his work place. He was big handed, so that explains the unusual handle work,
Two things, this blade is marked Parker USA, all of the other blades I have found have different marks, from his later partnerships. Also, the fellow who made this one made it in the early 70's

Must have been some time machine he used to bring that blade made in the late 80s back to the early 70s so he could put those handles on it.

No sir, I may be mistaken about your particular knife, as I've never seen any of the kits, nor what their patterns were called, but for the information and pattern of the Model 1392 and when it was produced is entirely correct.

The Parker MO24 kit is an entirely different knife from the knife in the original post. The OP knife is damascus steel made in USA. The MO24 kit is stainless steel made in Japan. Handle on the OP knife looks like a custom modification using water buffalo horn.

here is a pic I found, it shows exactly the same blade shape, and a kit format, the stamping is Parker-Edwards, where mine is just Parker USA, they have the same eagle stamp in the middle. This is what made me think he might have acquired a kit form, and made his own handle, probably of deer horn or bone. since the maker is gone, and the person it was given to first is also gone, my info is third hand .
