All About Pocket Knives

Picked up this Cigar Box, thought it would be handy for holding some of my EDC's. Lightly sanded, and hand rubbed three coats of tongue oil on it. Decided to relegate it to some of my SAKS.

Nice one! I have to start asking at some smoke shops here to see if they have any decent wood cigar boxes with a hinged lid they'd sell me. One that size should hold most of my EDCs of all types (which is usually a couple different tacticals, about a half-dozen mid-size traditionals; a bunch of different SAKs, and a multitool or two) that I alternate between.

Here's a Prince Edward I keep some of my EDCs (mostly the traditional folders) in. It's a heavy paper/cardstock; and I recently had to reinforce it. Not bad given it's been in the family since the 1950s and used for everything over that 60-something years.

There nice for knife/edc storage. I got a bunch of um. Some tobacco shops will give them to you. And I’ve bought some of the nicer wood ones for just a few bucks.

I'm guilty of using cigar boxes for some of my knives. In fact I believe there are 5 or 6 of them stashed away. The interesting thing to me is I don't look at them too often and it's like Christmas morning all over again when I crack one open. It don't take much to entertain this ol' man.

My father stored anything and everything in his cigar boxes. They were everywhere
around his work bench. I don't think that any of them were made of wood. I wish I
had saved them ALL. As it is, I managed to save three of them. I don't store anything
in them, they just exist.

I like cigar boxes.

OK P.B. your cigar boxes beat my old shoe boxes for storage. A lot more classier....

I'm using a plastic bin and knife rolls. Maybe I need to upgrade?

I was looking at my old shoe boxes... pretty shabby ... Maybe I need to upgrade too?

I store my knives in a multi drawer wooden tool chest, but a nice wooden cigar box with some felt lining and maybe a custom fitted piece of glass seems like it would make for a neat tabletop display case. Hmmmm... you’ve got me thinking now...

Here is a picture of a cigar box my brother-in-law found at an antique store in Kentucky.Designed as a dealer's box it has twelve drawers that can be removed as well as the top of the box for display purposes.
I find that it stores smaller knives nicely and currently contains about 700 knives.Also a couple of pictures of the drawers which are divided into left and right sides.

Very nice! Your system is much better than mine!!! Time for me to start upgrading

I was in a thrift store and found this box marked down from $5 to $1, so I thought... "Well, looks like a new knife box to me"

Other knife storage that work well for me for a little added protection.

I.use eye glass boxes for my knives and my small collection of Cross ink pens!

Most of the time I find them for about a buck (not a Buck knife that is) $1.00 or 2 for $1.00.

Here is one of my boxes.
