I got this old Camillus Cub Scout knife to rehandled with deer antler for my brother-in-law.

I made scales from this antler drop .

This is the second one . I had bought another to use the Boy Scout shield as the first one just had a mold pressed into the scale . I hadn’t realized those were made like that . When the other arrived , I saw it was in much better condition, so I decided to use it instead . The first was good practice , as this one came out better . Meaning it has a few less of my signature flaws .

I was able to leave the patina on the blades since it didn’t have all the grinder damage like the first one . Thus the idea to give the scales a pocket worn look .

I think my modified Cub Scout knife came out pretty good . My brother-in-law should like it .

Very nice!
The effect you got from the blue dye reminds me of old blue jeans!
Excellent job!

Do you think it would be possible to use a pressure cooker at low temperature (@ 225°) to get the dye to penetrate better? ::shrug::

I have been wondering that . Or possibly vacuum. I would think that would work . I want to try one of those but don’t have either one .

That turned out great! Like was said previously, it looks like faded blue jeans.
