This looks to be a Case Classic that has been rehandled. https://www.ebay.com/itm/185227215655?_ ... %7Ciid%3A1 The 73043-1/2 came in several different handle covers including goldstone (two different blade etches IIRC) but none that I know of had a “cigar band”. ::shrug:: I’m not saying this one is a total counterfeit but I don’t think these are the original covers either - not sure what’s going on with this one. ::shrug:: I’ve included at the bottom an original for reference.

Ken, I remember getting one of those in to work on a few years ago and the scales (covers) were already shot and there was major pitting damage on the blades from outgassing. It looks like someone has ground off as much of the pitting damage on this one as they could (along with the blade etch) and put some new goldstone on it with a fancy "cigar band" on each side. From the auction pictures, I can see some residual pitting still left on the blades. Obviously, he should have mentioned in the auction what work has been done to the knife. ::hmm::

Agreed. Quite a few questionable knives.

I find those handles on that knife ::barf:: . Like gold metallic paint on a Model-T Ford. ::facepalm::
What that knife needs is some Glennbad Stag! ::nod:: Just my opinion.
