There are a few online retailers offering these "Schrade USA Made Plain Lockback" knives. They are listed as being made in the USA or USA/China. They are nice looking with "genuine stag" handles. The blades are stamped Schrade+ USA LTD or Schrade+ USA 507SC.
They are nice looking and I'm very tempted at $80 if it actually was USA made. Could they have been made under contract here in the USA or ?

Some comment on this topic in another forum said, for that price, you could probably get a genuine Schrade USA new in the box knife.

Bingo. There are thousands of like-new U.S. Schrades on Ebay every year. It is rare to see the common really-good patterns sell for more than $80, and often for $40. Just make sure you see U.S.A. stamped into the tang of the master blade. There are a couple of exceptions, but they are rare items that you would not be interested in anyway. It should be mentioned that there are Schrade U.S.A. knives out there that were manufactured by Utica, Bear & Son, and Camillus, but they are all worthwhile, especially if you are not looking for collectibles. I get the sense that you want one or more good serviceable knives instead. Good luck in your quest, and welcome to the Forum.

There are a bunch of USA made Schrades (including lockbacks) for sale in the AAPK stores. For less than $80.
