How Are These Recognized as Counterfeits?

Guys,
Last night I posted a Spyderco on the Bay and a collector immediately recognized it as a counterfeit. I didn't think to ask him how he knew it to be a fake knife so I thought I might see if anyone here could help.
Actually, I was preparing to list another Spyderco and I am reasonably sure it is also a bad knife. I'll put a photo of it up here also.
Any input will be more than I know right now and will be appreciated.

Thus is the frustration; someone hollers, "FAKE", then just walks away saying nothing more.

Steve, I don't think I told you that my niece made Master Sergeant this last fall. (I call her Gunny) Mighty proud of that little girl. Her husband is also Master Sergeant so now it comes down to TIG on the home front.

Ray.. I am going to take a crack at this.. I could be 100% wrong though..
No.1 I dont think there was ever a handle with that blade??
No.2 Spyderco never made a knife that looks like that.. All wrong.. Complete fake..

I can't tell how to spot a Spyderco fake either. Took a quick look online and I believe these are intended to look like the Harpy and Marine models for comparison.
I was taken in by a fake Kershaw Launch not long ago. The machining and finish was spot on. Only by comparing the graphics on the knife with a legitimate knife gave it away.
It happens.

I think I will just get myself out of the Spyderco business. Apparently there are lots of the counterfeits and I can't tell the good ones from the bad ones.

The only thing I know about counterfeit tacticals is to stay away from all tacticals on eBay. Sad but true.

I am sorry that I am no help - I am just not familiar enough with Spydercos.
But I have worked in banks for over 30 years, and I can tell you what I have learned about how they train bank tellers to spot counterfeit currency:
They do NOT teach them much about counterfeit money, instead show them a few pictures of things to look for in real currency (embedded strips, ink colors, etc), then they have them handle real currency for weeks. Thousands of bills. All by hand.
If you have noticed, an experienced teller counts through money by hand very quickly. I have seen women stop in the middle of counting a large stack of bills and pull out a counterfeit, all because it didn't feel right to her.
The best way to spot a fake is to become VERY familiar with the real.
I would suggest that if you want to sell Spyderco knives, get several real models and become an expert in them. Learn everything you can about the real ones. Then you can spot the fakes across the room.

Ray the head of the screw is different than what I have on my Spyderco they have a shoulder . Look at some of your other ones and see if you see it

Here is a pic of the Spyderco Civilian C12G from the Spyderco web site. The blade grind and tang stamps are all wrong on the op knife. The handle has differences you can readily see also.
