Don't usually buy commemorative issues but this one was mint, in the display case with the original paper work, and, it is a beautiful piece of bone with a sterling shield. So, I did it and it looks nice on the cave wall. 1986. Any body know the pattern number? Thanks. J.O'.

Nice score! I see a lot of the blades, but hardly any complete knives.

I love the looks of the Schrade, but the Buck ones are more interesting as there is an inset copper medallion made from damaged panels from the Statue of Liberty during its retoration.

It is the same frame as the 123OT Old Timer or the 124UH Uncle Henry. At least one of these Statue of Liberty knives is for sale on Ebay at any one given day, for years now. They also did one that is more rare, with a GOLD wash etch instead of silver.

I had one of those in a collection I purchased many years ago. I was very impressed with this knife. The way it looks in the case with that clear plastic cover doesn’t do that knife justice. When I took it out, handled it and cleaned and oiled it, I just couldn’t believe how nice of a knife this is. Congrats on the purchase.

SSK: You're right, it's a really nicely done piece.Solid fit and finish and great bone. Might put a clear glass on it and stash the plastic underneath. Almost wanna carry it! That's why I avoid "box queens", too pretty to carry.

TR: That was interesting, thanks. I see them for sale at quite a range of prices. I "got it good" so I'm happy with it.

Nice find J.O.
VERY nice find!
The F & F is nicely executed on the Statue of Liberty knife.

I have a particular fondness for this pattern. There is about a half dozen of so variations on this pattern.
