Another 25 cent case on EBay . Thirteen bidders already over 200 dollars. Looks similar to one posted on here in February.

Good eye. No legitimate Case 25¢ knife had a cap bolster. Two bolsters = not a 25¢ knife.

That counterfeit 25 cent knife brought 406 dollars. Feel sorry for the buyer. If he shows it to a case collector or ever takes it to a knife show he’s going to be disappointed . Hopefully he finds this web site and won’t make a big mistake like that again.

That kinda looks like an old Cattaragus or Schrade bone jigging pattern. A single-blade equal-end penknife with only one blade?!
Something about the blade profile looks post-1970's to me.
Hmmmmm......

Isn’t this the seller who is now on at least his third (or is it fourth?) different name and location, from Arizona to Maine to ??? Selling counterfeits and cobbled re-works all the way - IIRC even tried selling here until he got ran off.

Ken. I'm not sure but I do believe this seller has had several different names and locations over the past year or so. He sells good and bad knives all the same and has been highlighted here in the CF forum a number of times.

Well, crap, I just bought a knife from this seller, but hadn't run across this thread yet. I wanted to buy this same knife from a trusted seller here on AAPK, but thought it was sold and gone. Turns out there was another one listed and my search just wasn't turning it up.
Anyway, I've compared and scrutinized the pics of the knife I bought with the one from the trusted AAPK seller, and I think the knife I bought is ok. But I wouldn't mind someone with greater expertise weighing in.
Here's a link to the completed sale:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/313995858474
And here's a link to the AAPK knife I wish I had found sooner!

And if the ebay link doesn't work, or you don't want to follow it, here are the seller's pictures. I haven't received the knife yet so I haven't taken any of my own yet.

That Henckels looks perfect.
The OP knife does have that Catt jigging look to it.

Thank you! I thought so too, but I'm just getting started with the canoe pattern and have never owned any Zwilling Henckels of any sort. I really appreciate your help, @1967redrider.

Unfortunately, when searching the internet for comparators of the Case 25 cent knife you are likely to find more examples of this counterfeit knife than of real Case 25 cent knives. This in itself can be a problem that leads to perpetuating the sale of these terrible fake knives.
Since these knives were small and made to be very usable, inexpensive knives most were used up and put out to pasture long before they would be found in decent, collectible condition. I have owned one actual legitimate example of this knife, although the blade was worn down to about 50% of its original size. Most all of the fake knives are seen in the "is new because it is new condition".
Here is a Case Bradford knife I have that is the same pattern as the 25 cent knife. If you see a Case knife purported to be an original Case 25 cent knife and it doesn't look like this same pattern don't pay a real Case price for it.
2 5/8" closed length.

I sent a note through eBay telling the seller that since the knife is a counterfeit and not a real Case brand knife it should not be sold as such. I don't always get a reply to such notes. This is the same seller vending all the old blades stamped with many different manufacturer names.

These two are the real deal. Every example that I have seen or owned has a tang stamp that appears to be too large for the tang - that is just how they were made.
Withn the last couple of weeks, one seller put out about a dozen listings of the fakes, different handle materials (stag, bone, celluloid) and some with the 50 cent stamp instead of the 25 cent stamp.

I just had a run in with this guy , he is a real POS with no morals.
Hid damage in his pictures and nothing in his description of a broken blade on a knife I purchased .
eBay is in the process of refunding me .
Buyer beware when buying from this guy !
His real name !

Not surprised by that, unfortunately. Last run-in I had with a similar eBay seller (not the same guy but one like him) I got a refund too. When I left negative feedback back he got mad and sent me several nasty messages, which I ignored. Less than a month later the negative feedback disappeared from his account, and his eBay feedback rating went back to 100%.
If you leave the guy negative feedback it will be interesting to see how long it sticks.

I don't know about this concept of getting negative feedback removed easily. My experience is it doesn't happen. First and foremost, you must contact the buyer and ask them to remove it. Then, I think after 5 days you can ask eBay to step in and review the situation. They always tell me that feedback is just an opinion and in no event can eBay by arbiter of an opinion. You live with the comments for 12 months and go on.
Here is a mega seller that has 40K plus feedback comments. They get negative and neutral feedback every month. If it is so easy to remove, why wouldn't eBay just take the bad ones down? This seller is making mega $ for eBay. According to them he is one of their most dependable sellers and delivers outstanding customer service and yet they make them wear the scarlet letters for an entire year.

I suspect there is more going on here and the feedback comments that were left violated eBay policy and, in that case, eBay did remove the comments. Maybe a lot depends on the wording. Here is the eBay policy and leaving negative feedback.

In my case the seller’s description stated the knife was in “as new near-mint condition.” The pictures looked good. When I got the knife in-hand it was obviously buffed, two of the three blades were totally lazy and had to be manually pushed to closed position. I immediately re-wrapped the knife, returned it to its shipping packaging and requested a return. The seller’s responses were always at the last possible day - if eBay said I should receive a response from the seller within 5 days (I don’t recall the specific time period) the reply was on day 5. The knife was returned, with tracking. A subsequent message said he needed “more time to get the money”. Again on the last day allowed by eBay, I received the refund.
I waited until after getting the refund from eBay, then the negative feedback I left simply checked the boxes provided by eBay, and added the comment “item not as described”. No comments about the seller, nor anything else.
Not long thereafter I received the first of several inflammatory and argumentative messages from the seller, berating me for leaving negative feedback, and calling me a crook. Said if he had known I was going to leave negative feedback he would have presented evidence he had that I had tampered with the knife.

The gist of his anger was “you got your money back” so therefore the feedback should have been positive. I never replied to any of his messages. My one and only message was the request for return. I was done with him. And as I said, within a month my feedback disappeared. How and why it was removed I do not know.
In all the years I have bought items on eBay I have only left negative feedback twice.
