I think someone ruined those blades with a coarse belt sander. If you look closely, you can still see a little bit of residual pitting here and there, so I have to assume that damage was done in order to remove a lot of pitting.

Not an old or original Norvell Shapleigh knife. Bone is modern and stamps look fake.

If this will be of any help, this an old Norvell-Shapleigh stamp.
