I'm a collector of Collins axes, and pretty much anything else made by Collins. I was at our local Tuesday auction preview and on the first table was a kind of rusty old Machete. I really wasn't interested till I saw a Black Label on it. It was a Collins! I turned it over and it's a Legitimus. Only thing that had me worried is, the auctioneer put another knife with it, and I was afraid someone would want the other knife and out bid me, and throw the rusty Machete away. I wound up winning the bid for $26 for both knives. The second knife is a Jim Frost Dagger. If you are into the fantasy Daggers, keep your eyes open, I'll be donating that one soon.

What a neat old machete.
I've got a big ol' Collins machete. It does good work.
Yours is pretty stylized. I've never seen that handle before, but I don't chase these things.

Very cool Collins machete! Can't say the same for the fantasy Frost.

I know the auctioneer and was giving him heck for putting the two knives together as one lot. He laughed and said he figured I'd be bidding on the Collins, and that was the only way he could get anything for the frost.

That frost would make a good "throwing" knife.

Cool Collins machete, Rarefish. I worked as a land surveyor for a few decades, and Collins 24" machetes were my favorites. Seems like they became unavailable about ten years ago. What with carrying one every day and me being a bit absent minded, I left a few in various patches of woods.

This one is 32" and I had never seen one like it before. I did find one in near mint condition with sheath, on an old Ebay sale, so that makes 2.

Yea, throwing out the window while driving down a lonely old country road...
