An Interesting Project
Ground was broken on June 30th for a new project here in Sioux Falls that would provide housing for homeless veterans by developing a tiny home village. Plans are at this time for 25 tiny homes, the first of which has just been delivered as shown in this photo I took today when I went over to the area to see the location. Re: An Interesting Project

I'd like to see some of the abandoned houses in my neck of the woods razed and replaced with a development like this. Glad to see some veterans will be getting the help (beyond just a roof over their heads) that they need.

There is a similar project going on in the town that I live in.

Really wonderful idea. Too bad we can’t send
a massive e-mail to all mayors. I am sure
there are funds for most cities that can be
tapped at the state or local level.

Re: An Interesting Project
This project looks very useful and practical. Could be used throughout the country as suggested by Bob(realeye).

Thanks Jerry. I was limited on my photo op by only having a cellphone camera with me, the mud in the construction site, and not wanting to tresspass.

Update
After a very hard winter here, there are now 5 of the tiny homes built as well as the foundation for the main building and curb for the parking lot. The blue tiny house pictured above on a trailer is nowhere to be seen, I think it was a sample trucked in when the project was first introduced so the public could get an idea of the size and construction. Hopefully now with better weather on the way the pace of construction will accelerate.
